Company Overview The Job The Sr. User Experience Designer will support and report to the UX Director within the ecommerce team. This critical role will play a key part in defining and shaping digital solutions by delivering user-centered designs for . To achieve these experiences this individual will collaborate with a cross-functional team, including other UX Designers, creative design team, business stakeholders, analysts, researchers, development teams and leadership. Specifically, there are 4 key responsibilities for this role to own and lead: - Represents the voice of the customer, based on customer research, analytic data, user experience best practices and ecommerce industry expertise to drive best-in-class ecommerce experience for Ace customers. - Drives ongoing data driven evaluation and improvement of the UX (user experience)/UI (User interface) on Ace's digital properties to continually improve performance funnel metrics and reach/exceed revenue goals and KPIs - Leads cross-functional business teams in capturing and translating business requirements and user needs into innovative digital user experiences. - Owns the development of presentations, user flows, wireframe specifications, prototypes and other necessary documentation to communicate the recommended user experience to leadership, stakeholders and development teams. What you'll do Owns the user experience for assigned projects and evolution of strategic areas of (i.e. Search or Checkout). - Identifies new features and UX improvements needed to continually improve the customer experience, based on quantitative and qualitative data. - Gages the usability of new and existing features and makes suggestions for change. - Works with business partners to prioritize new features and customer experience improvements, by advocating for the customer and providing user experience insights. - Acts as strategic thought leader for the the UX and UI/Creative design team, by providing design feedback during review sessions, sharing best practices, providing direction to solve design problems and ensuring the entire team is creating the best user experiences for . Ability to independently and effectively lead multiple projects in varying in size and complexity, without significant oversite from the UX Director: - Manages, prioritizes and determines UX activities for assigned projects. - Resolves problems and roadblocks as they occur. Creates innovative, useful and usable user experiences for : - Captures and translates business requirements and user needs into innovative user experiences. - Leads working sessions with UX team, UI/creative team, business stakeholders and development teams to gather UX insights and form user experience solutions. - Documents the user experience solution in the form of presentations, user flows, wireframe specifications, prototypes and other necessary documentation to communicate the recommended user experience to stakeholders and development teams. - Applies best practices, from groups like Baymard and NN/group, to user experience designs. - Actively seeks out feedback from other UXAs and UX Director on UX design concepts and deliverables to ensure the best UX direction is created. - Leads review sessions of in progress work, with work partners (creative team, business stakeholders, and development teams), UX team, and leadership to share design direction and gather feedback. Leads research initiatives, with little oversite by the UX Director: - Conducts, analyses and clearly documents competitive analyses and heuristic evaluations; to share ecommerce landscape, understand best practices across other ecommerce sites and inform design directions. - Identifies research needs for project work and , including qualitative and quantitative research; as well as, A/B tests, outlining with hypothesis and desired outcomes. - Works with a researcher to prepare and execute research; or executes needed research for projects on their own. - Works with analysts and researchers to interpret quantitative and qualitative data ensuring data driven user experiences. What you need to succeed Experience and Technical Requirements - Minimum 5 years' experience in user experience design, information architecture, interaction design, human factors and other related UX disciplines. - BS/BA degree in design, technology, psychology, human factors or HCI is preferred. - Has a deep knowledge on web and app user experience best practices and can clearly communicate and apply those practices to project work. - Understands the ecommerce completive landscape to inform his/her UX design solutions. - Experience creating user experiences for e-commerce businesses. - Experience with all stages of the software development lifecycle in both traditional, waterfall and agile. - Experience creating wireframes and prototypes in Axure, Sketch or other design tools. - Proven ability to diplomatically advocate for the user, communicate informed design rational and value. - Effective cross-function collaboration skills, with UI/creative designers, business partners, developers and other stakeholders. - Outstanding communication, organization, time management and interpersonal skills. - MUST have a strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g. wireframes, user flows, site maps, research, etc.).
