DESCRIPTION:Seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking software engineer to work on constructing the next phase of a simulation of the AN/SPY-1 radar:Work with/use knowledge of physics, signal processing, and control logic that enable a radar to operateUtilize GPGPUs and cross-language interfacesWork with radar engineers to develop an understanding of the design of evolving radar systemsCreate simulation software that represents that radar designDevelop simulation framework and radar system componentsIntegrate with other environmental and weapon systems simulationsUse industry software development best practices, then extend those practices to cutting-edge improvementsSupport use of radar simulation in tasks ranging from the development of new algorithms and new system designs to how best to utilize the radar as it is deployed on Navy shipsAs needed, develop and test tools to monitor and optimize simulation executionSKILLS:C++, Java, algorithm development, signal processingTOP SKILLS DETAILS:C++,JavaADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Eagerness to learn test-driven development processes, functional programming, CUDA, new software languages such as Kotlin and Rust, combat weapon systems, and radarM.S. in Computer Science or Mathematics, or M.S. in another related technical field with significant software experience.B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics or another related technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Engineering, with +2 years demonstrated software experience.Experience, including class projects or internships, that demonstrates the ability to develop software tools or translate scientific and engineering algorithms into tested simulation codeExperience with multiple programming paradigms (declarative, imperative, functional, object-oriented)Experience with automated build tools and continuous integration, Understanding of design patternsFamiliarity with test-driven developmentProficient using gitFluency in multiple JVM and non-JVM languages, with an understanding of their strengths and weaknessesExperience using either CUDA or a high-level multithreaded programming model a plusEXPERIENCE LEVEL:Intermediate ABOUT ACTALENT: Actalent connects passion with purpose.
